Have you undergone treatment for breast cancer (whether lumpectomy or mastectomy) and are now experiencing pain?
If so, this one hour class is for you.
You will meet Dr. Cheryl Wisinski, PT, DPT, WCS and her staff on Thursday, October 16th at 6:00 P.M. for an hour long free class about how to minimize and prevent pain during and following treatment for breast cancer. This class will discuss what expectations are following surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Pain and activity limitations are not acceptable during the course of treatment, and certainly in the years following, and should not be considered a normal part of having breast cancer. We will discuss how to optimize functional activity with support devices: tape/supportive clothing, and compression sleeves, along with preventing lymphedema. Recommendations will be provided for some exercises to be performed at home for improving strength, mobility of shoulders, posture, and cardiovascular fitness. Handouts will be provided to attendees and sample products will be available during the class for attendees to try if desired.
