How To Stand Up Properly

Dr. Cheryl Wisinski, PT, DPT, WCS, (owner Midwest Physical Therapy Services) demonstrates how to stand up from a chair with the least amount of effort required. This is especially useful if there are muscle weaknesses or physical limitations creating difficulty in getting out of a chair. Pivoting at the hip joint is the key to this technique, while keeping your spine straight (in neutral). This minimizes back, hip and knee pain while standing.
